Ketoral Cream

Ketoral Cream is a topical medication commonly used for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic (pain-relieving), and antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties. It primarily contains Ketorolac tromethamine, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

Active Ingredient:

Mechanism of Action:

Ketorolac works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which is responsible for the formation of prostaglandins — compounds involved in inflammation, pain, and fever. By blocking COX enzymes, Ketorolac reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins, thereby decreasing inflammation and pain at the site of application.

Indications:

Ketoral Cream is generally prescribed for:

• Relief of localized pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions such as sprains, strains, and contusions.
• Treatment of inflammatory skin conditions like insect bites, minor burns, and localized soft tissue injuries.
• Post-surgical pain relief for superficial wounds.
• Other conditions where topical NSAIDs are appropriate.

Dosage and Administration:

• Apply a thin layer of Ketoral Cream to the affected area.
• Typically, it is recommended to apply 2-3 times daily.
• Gently rub the cream into the skin until fully absorbed.
• Wash hands after application unless the hands are the treatment site.
• Avoid application on open wounds or mucous membranes unless otherwise directed.

Contraindications:
