Contact Lens Case
A contact lens case is a small, essential accessory designed for clean, safe storage of contact lenses when they are not worn. Typically composed of a compact plastic container with two screw-on or flip-top wells (one often marked with “L” or “R”), its function is to house the lenses submerged in disinfecting solution until the next wear.

- Do not use tap water or saliva—these can introduce dangerous microbes such as Acanthamoeba .

- Bacterial/fungal growth: Moist, secluded cases are breeding grounds for microbes—cases are often linked to keratitis .
- Tap water hazard: Contains pathogens that can cause severe infections .
- Topping off: Reusing solution allows microbes to survive and multiply .

- Rotate between two cases—one use, one drying—reduces risk of bacterial growth.
